Microbiology Highly Cited Researchers

Derek Lovley and Kelly P. Nevin were among nine professors from the University of Massachusetts Amherst that were recognized in 2021 as highly cited researchers by the Web of Science. The annual list identifies researchers who demonstrated significant influence in their chosen field or fields through the publication of multiple highly cited papers during the last decade.

Wilmore Webley Recognized by Northern Carribbean University

August 2021: Wilmore Webley, Associate Professor of Microbiology, was recently recognized by Northern Carribbean University as their 2021 Product Sample. The award was accepted on behalf of Dr. Webley by a family member at the NCU graduation ceremony held on August 8, 2021. The recognition was given to Dr. Webley as an alum who exemplifies the ethics and values of NCU in his life and work and has distinguished himself in the field of microbiology where he has demonstrated academic and professional excellence.

Wilmore Webley to be Honored at Juneteenth Event

June 2021: Wilmore Webley, Associate Professor of Microbiology and Director of Pre-Med Advising, will be one of two people honored at a Juneteenth event to be held on June 19 at the Raymond A. Jordan Senior Center in Springfield, Massachusetts. Dr. Webley has been working for several months with the Black Springfield COVID Coalition to help people understand the science around COVID-19 with an emphasis on increasing vaccination rates in minority communities.
